Standard Consultation Fees
Light Blue Psychology is not a bulk-billing practice, so there will be an out-of-pocket cost for sessions. Fees vary depending on the type of session and duration.
The APS National Schedule of Suggested Fees 2025–2026 lists $318 as the standard fee for a 46 to 60-minute consultation. Light Blue Psychology sets its fees independently, and the consultation fees remain well below this benchmark. The intention is to remain mindful of accessibility and to prioritise continuity of care as core aspects of mental health support.
The following fees apply from 3 April 2026 onward and until further notice.
- These fees serve as reference fees for standard consultations and are also used as the baseline when calculating extended sessions, reports, letters and other clinical services. Work for organisations or external agencies is quoted separately.
- If you are accessing services under a Medicare Mental Health Treatment Plan, your referring doctor will receive the required Mental Health Treatment Plan Review Reports at the completion of each course of treatment (typically after six sessions). These reports form part of routine clinical care and are provided at no additional cost.
- All other letters and reports requested by clients or third parties are charged separately. This includes, but is not limited to, Psychological Assessment Reports (e.g., assessment summaries, diagnoses and treatment recommendations), clinical update letters, WPATH support letters, and other requested clinical documentation.
- As a guide, brief clinical letters (typically 1–2 pages) are generally charged at the equivalent of 1 hour of clinical work, comprehensive clinical letters (typically 3–4 pages) at the equivalent of 2 hours, while longer letters and reports are charged according to the scope, complexity and time required.
- Medicare rebates vary depending on the provider’s qualification. The rebates listed here apply to services provided by a registered Clinical Psychologist (AHPRA).
- Medicare rebate information is current as per the Medicare Benefits Schedule fee updated 1 July 2025.
- A standard 60-minute appointment includes 50 minutes of therapeutic time, with the remaining time allocated to clinical documentation and administrative processes.
